Though losing Regionals to Vocal Adrenaline, New Directions left their sophomore year on a positive note, deciding to enjoy the summer and be grateful that they had one more year to turn things around. However, with the summer break gone and being already a few weeks into their junior year, New Directions has to work even harder this year if they want to stand a chance at Regionals, and they may just get that chance with some new faces deciding to join the small club. But with every new face, comes even more drama and secrets just waiting to be exploited.
Meanwhile, fresh from their win at Regionals and their inevitable victory at Nationals, Vocal Adrenaline seem to be on top once again. Especially now that Jesse St. James has decided to wait a year before heading to college and has managed to convince Shelby Corcoran into spending another year with Vocal Adrenaline as their coach, with Jesse there as second in command. But why would Jesse take a year out of his future just to come back to Vocal Adrenaline? What is he really up to?
With so many unanswered questions and mysteries lying ahead, this year looks like it could be even harder than the one before.
