PERSONALITY,
There is one word that could sum up Jedediah, in a whole, if one were challenged to do such; manipulative. If there’s one thing this boy enjoys doing, it’s messing with someone’s mind. He prides himself in his ability to take someone from stereotype and turn them into the complete opposite. His favorite is closeted men who try and hide their sexual insecurities by sleeping with every woman they come in contact with. Those are who he focuses on; by the end, most of them are hanging on his arm, with him, and only him.
If they aren’t, well, they will not leave without a black eye.
On top of being very manipulative, he’s very abusive to the men he sleeps with (though the most he’ll ever do is slap a woman). Someone, once, referred to him as ‘bipolar’ with his actions -- he can go from punching someone one minute (for being a smartass) to caressing his cheek the next (for shutting his mouth). Jedediah will not hesitate to put people in their place if he feels the need to do so.
Don’t get me wrong, he can be sweet as a button if he chooses to be, especially to the women in his life -- for there is a rare occasion that he would ever try and tame a woman -- but he has to want it, and people have to earn it. He doesn’t take shit from anybody. While he would probably never murder a man, yet always carries a knife in his back pocket for the thrill of the scare. Nothing tames a man quicker than pulling out a weapon when they can’t run.
Of course he’s a hypocrite. He demands his men be loyal to him, when Jedediah himself has no intentions to be loyal back. He has his favorites on speed dial and he’s going to call them as he pleases, no matter what. No one can back sass him, but he’ll back sass everyone. He expects people to do as he tells them, or else suffer the consequences.
Not just everyone can get away with such devious escapades; Jed is very intelligent, and he manages a lot through that. As a boy, he attended a prep school, which educated him well -- he then went on to an Ivy League college, where he furthered his education. He’s very well read, and has learned to conduct plans according to the knowledge he’s received from books.
HISTORY,
Jedediah came from a privileged family, though right off the bat, it was rather apparent that things weren’t as high and mighty as they seemed. He was born an only child to Ambrose and Anna McCoy, and born into a life of cocktail parties and scantly dressed women. There was never anything ‘naïve’ about the boy -- right off the bat, he was very mature, and being born into a high social standing brought that along.
His father ran McCoy Adult Toy Merchandising -- the country’s leading maker of sex toys. It was established by Jed’s grandfather years previous, and quickly climbed its way to the top of the industry, even housing a small pornography production company under its wing. Jed was next in the line to inherit it, though that didn’t necessarily work out as planned.
On the side of his company, Jed’s father was a drug dealer -- though he never touched his stash. He built up a good amount of wealth by that, and did well to remain anonymous. At the same time, the man had quite the gambling addiction -- that combination ruined the McCoy family.
When Jed was in his Sophomore year of High School, his family’s company hit a very stressful point and, to cope, Ambrose hit up his usual gambling establishment to cope. For the first time, he dove into his stash of drugs to sell and got himself rather high, followed by a few shots. He gambled away the entire family fortune that night, as well as the rest of the company -- not to mention, he let his drug side business slip to an undercover cop.
Jedediah received word -- via letter -- from his mother a week later that his father had been arrested and the company was now broke. He had gone to an all boy’s boarding school his entire life, but, due to no money for tuition, his father (still in jail) and mother sent him to a public school for the first time in his entire life, starting his Junior year.
Those two years of High School were both interesting and hell -- he got by, mainly by screwing teachers and bullshitting assignments, but he was very glad to get out of there. He got himself a job at the local diner (where he could get paid for hitting on customers) and keeps his sanity by Chicago nightlife (as well as selling drugs).
Of course, he never took the drugs, only sold them, and that sober business brought him quite a fortune. When he was twenty two, he moved to Akron, Ohio, and bought a rather large house. He had taken the required college courses to get his teaching license, and he now works at the High School, having sex and selling drugs to keep his life... "interesting".
