The Rules!
General
1. Attacking or flaming other members is never, and will never be tolerated. This includes sexism, racism, homophobic comments, or any other offensive remarks. Although we understand issues like this could come up in the role play (as they do in the show), insulting someone out of character will result in severe sanctions
2. As the Proboards Terms of Service requires, this forum is PG-13. This means that although strong violence, language and sex will not be tolerated, we allow infrequent swearing, sexual references and sexual content/violence up to a certain point. As a general rule of thumb, we accept the level of content on the show.
3. We allow signatures on this board but they must not stretch the board or be of a ridiculous height. 500 width is a safe maximum width and a sensible height.
4. This board is considered 'intermediate' because we ask for you to produce two solid paragraphs per post. This usually comes to at least 180 words at a bare minimum. However, we do not enforce an overly strict word limit, as long as you produce a good quality detailed post.
5. This is a literate site and therefore we ask that you use correct grammar in all of your in character posts and all spellings are correct. This may seem like a harsh rule but the post comes with an in built spell checker and as all members should be at least thirteen we expect that you know basic grammar.
Characters
1. 'Mary Sues' and 'Gary Stus' are a big no. In real life you never come across a 100% perfect person, everyone has flaws and weaknesses, and therefore we do not accept characters that are completely perfect.
2. When claiming a canon you then have two days to go ahead and complete an application for your character. Once accepted, the canon is yours just like a normal character. We ask that you keep the personality of the canon relatively similar to the show but you are given a free choice on their storylines. Also, due to the fact none have middle names, the choice is up to you, but be wary of their background when selecting the name.
3. Please wait to be accepted before role playing. This may seem tedious but we do our best to accept your apps as fast as possible. We only ask this so we can make sure there are no violations to any rules!
4. We ask that every character has a face claim. This is a celebrity that represents the looks of your character. All canons already have the face claims from the show, but original characters are up to you. Just make sure that they are not already taken. Check out Caution for ideas for face claims.
5. There is no character limit. Although we ask that people only have one major canon and one minor canon as a limit, original characters are up to you, as long as each and every one is active. Also, to balance out the genders, for every two female characters we ask that you also have a male character to make the numbers more equal.
6. It is one character per account, which means although you may have as many charries as you can keep active, each one has it's own separate account. We ask that you change your display name to the first and last name of your character.
7. Canon characters, as they are the most sought after, must be kept active. If you do not post that you will be away, and you do not post for a week/respond to activity checks, your character will be put back up for someone to claim. You can reclaim your character the first time you do this, but if your canon has to be put up for a second time, you will not be able to reclaim them. Also, if it has been a month since you last RPed your character (without a notice/reason) and have not taken an interest in re-claiming your canon you can't reclaim them.
In Character
1. We operate in liquid time. This basically means that your character can be in more than one thread at once, although we have a limit of five threads per character. This way, there will be things to do when there is a slow poster, but still encourages you to put effort into all the threads. If you have reached your limit, exceptions can be made for events.
2. No powerplaying or godmoding will be accepted on this site. Godmoding is where you control another person's character without giving them a chance (for example, Finn punched Puck and Puck was knocked into a coma). Powerplaying is where a normal human being is given powers that are completely impossible for them (for example, Kurt sung the song so well, better than everyone else could ever sing it in the whole entire world)
3. If a character has unprotected sex they do not instantly become pregnant. If this was the case there would be too many babies on this site. Instead, if you wish to make your character pregnant, email a staff member who will decide whether or not your character is pregnant or not. We're sorry to burst your bubble but this is a Glee site not a maternity ward site.
